Since I was a child I’ve sometimes felt either too different or out of place at times. It’s almost like on occasions I felt like I fitted in and other times I found myself asking, “Who am I?”
It was not until I was in my 20s that a friend randomly sent me a message. She asked, “Have you ever heard of an Indigo child? I think you may be one.” Fascinated by her suspicions, I took a look at a link she sent. I was more familiar with the concept of “old souls” but an Indigo Child? What the heck was that?
Legend of the Indigos
Admittedly, what I read about Indigo Children accurately described who I was for the most part. Reading all about these “mythical and gifted children” and all of the special abilities they possess made me feel as though I was a member of the X-Men. Well, at least I felt this way until I once again realized I still could not shoot red lasers from my eyes or scrape anyone with Adamantium claws. Bomber!
But seriously, a lot of people may believe that the concept of Indigo Children is superstitious; it may even conflict with some of their general beliefs. But I will say that whether you believe in the concept of Indigo Children or not is not what truly matters.
Any sensible person would readily agree that Jean Grey and Mystique do not exist. My suggestion, however, is to try grasping the legend of the Indigos for whatever you view it to be. Read as much as you like while keeping in mind that though the cap may fit, it’s still your choice if to wear it
