The word “hate” probably exists in every English dictionary and is quite useful for expressing disgust at anything vile. However, “hate” is often accused of being two-sided. An American child might express pent up anger at a parent, “I hate you!” while a boy living in Nigeria might close his eyes and open his mouth, “I hate—y” And before he knows it, he’ll suddenly feel like he’s flying through the air at sixty miles per hour. When he opens his eyes, he’ll find himself lying out in the yard with a swollen jaw, pondering why.
On a universal level, there are times when the word “hate” can be uttered by nearly everyone without many ramifications. Examples include “I hate 4 o’clock traffic,” “I hate chocolate chips mixed with broccoli.” And of course utterances like, “I hate sex (men excluded)” or “I hate men (women only).” Wait, they hate what? Why do women hate men?
Do Women really Hate Men?
Hate is such a strong word. Do women really mean it when they say they hate men? Truth is, women can sometimes be very unpredictable. If a man cries out in public that he hates women, then he’ll probably find himself crying afterwards. Because every woman within a fifty mile radius may swarm around him to give him a piece of their minds.
On the other hand, when a woman says she hates men, somehow it seems that all men must abruptly stop whatever they’re doing and listen up. And yet, they say that the world should thrive on equality. But that’s another story.
The real reasons Women “Hate” Men
As much as some women wish it were true, most women don’t really hate men. Chances are that they either just had a few bad experiences with one or two dudes. Or they probably heard another woman sputtering, “Men are dogs!” And then simply allowed their brains to follow suit.
Just like men can’t stand some annoying traits about women, the same goes for the opposite sex. Let’s face it, there are just some things that many men do that might even make an untamed orang-utan smack its forehead and suck it’s teeth. Below are 5 reasons that explain why women hate men.
Reason #1: Men are too kind
All men aren’t dogs. Some actually go “meow.” A rumor has been going on for ages that women fall head over heels for the “bad boy”; it’s commonly believed this boy routinely flees from the police, smokes weed and knows how to shoot twin Uzis while he madly drives through the city in a crack-mobile.
It is true there are some women who are naturally vulnerable to these kind of silly men. But they are certainly not in the majority. With this said, there is a specific trait that many possess that can easily become quite annoying to most women when overdone. It’s called chivalry.
Women generally appreciate it when a man is willing to go out of his way to make them feel appreciated. E.g. opening doors, giving them gifts, buying them lunch every once in a while. And telling them how nice they look in their fancy, red dress. But start smothering them with too much unnatural kindness and they’ll soon start dreaming of smothering you with their fists.
No woman likes a man who is a pushover and excessively clingy. But unfortunately, give most men a chance and they’ll consistently try to prove to a woman that they reek of masculine chivalry. Honestly, after a while women begin to hate it! Men who know how to expose other sides every once in a while without portraying mechanical niceness have much less trouble attracting and keeping women.
Reason #2: Men are children
Say what you want about men, but know that every last one of them has a childish side. And the beauty of it is that most of them aint afraid to admit it. Men may obsess over video games and fantasize about sports. Some heckle at women while walking alongside their wife or girlfriend. Others get all upset when their best friend purchases a $500,000 Mercedes Benz while they’re still saving for a bike.
What does all of the above translate to for women? That’s simple: Men need to grow up! A word of advice to all men. It’s okay to be a child every now and then. But this is only up until a six year old girl stops you in the middle of the street, frowns and rolls her eyes, then calls you an idiot. Now try to imagine what a grown woman might really be thinking.
Reason #3: Men hate taking sides
Wife: “Hun, do I look fat in this dress?”
Husband: “You look like a pig!”
“Oh, is that so? No sex for you tonight!”
Men hate trick questions. Consequently, many women seem to constantly ask a lot of questions for the sake of making war with men. Usually the easiest way for a man to not take sides is to keep his mouth shut. And so most men resort to this tactic.
Yet, to the average woman who thrives on chattering or gossiping, silence can often be perceived as a sign of weakness. In such a woman’s book, men just don’t have the kahunas to keep up with the way they roll.
Wife: “My mother’s coming over later.”
Husband: “…..”
Wife: “Sleep on the couch tonight!”
Men just can’t win.
Reason #4: Men are not Women
Women usually like bunnies, roses, buttercups, soda pop, George Clooney, and heart shaped strawberries. Men usually like street racing, smack talking, deer hunting, beer drinking, any woman with no clothes on, or better yet a heart shape strawberry placed on top of a nude Halle Berry. Do you see the bizarreness? Both sexes generally just aren’t even close to liking the same things.
Sometimes a woman desires to tap into her most divine senses. She wants to do things and talk to someone about the more sensitive things in life. The average man, however, usually visualizes what’s unemotional and in front of him; he would turn up his nose at anything that doesn’t combust into flames or give him an immediate adrenaline rush.
To alleviate the problem a man might want to try lending a more profound ear to a woman’s voice; he would also need to not give in to the temptation of imagining that there would be less yapping if his woman just magically turned into a flower pot.
Reason #5: Men still rule the world
Oh boy, feminists were probably just waiting for this one. To help break the ice, let’s sing the men’s version of the “meow song”: ♪ Men rule rule rule, men rule rule rule, men rule rule rule rule rule rule rule ♪. Among all the reasons why women “hate” men, this one is generally the most difficult for women to accept.
For centuries men have ruled the world through nearly every medium possibly conceivable: religion, sports, jobs, politics, etc. But as the world progressed it is quite obvious that women have made consistent strides in changing the way they are looked upon by the entire globe. Men just don’t possess the same clear-cut advantage they once did. Women have indeed taken over in many areas. However, this would only become a complete reality when women hold the majority of core leadership roles in world. After all, the first female US president has been the call for quite a while by many.
The truth is that nothing is impossible. If women keep up the pace they have been going at for over the last few decades, it may only be a matter of time before most men find themselves sitting at the side-lines, hoping to find humor in reading some article titled, “Why men hate women.”
